Archery

Jewellz began her archery journey during elementary school at Archbishop Neale School. She was new to the school and did not really know a lot of people at the time. To try and find friends, Jewellz decided to try archery. At the time she knew nothing about the sport, just eager to be involved as much as she could. Jewellz went to the first couple of practices and eventually even tried out for the team. She did make it however she experienced many ups and downs along the way. She found it hard to get into a consistent rhythm with the bow and arrow. Once she was able to find that rhythm, she was then able to gradually succeed. Jewellz attended a lot of tournaments before she began to see progress. She started receiving exceedingly high scores and even placing first in the majority of her tournaments. Jewellz would spend hours practicing on the weekends to try and perfect her technique. Eventually Jewellz was able to place in the top ten archers in the state of Maryland making her one of the best for her age. She then advanced to the Nationals tournament which was then held in Lousiville, Kentucky.

Experiencing a lot of fun during this time because some of her friends had also made it to the next level, Jewellz was eager to see what the next step was. The next year after that Jewellz placed top ten in the state of Maryland again. Therefore advancing to the Nationals level. However this time many of her friends did not make it. She still was determined to try her best. A couple weeks later, Jewellz recieved news that she had qualified for the World's Archery Tournament that would be held in Nashville, Tennesse. This placed her with the top archers in the entire world, with kids coming from all different states. During high school, Jewellz continued to stay with archery until senior year when she made the ultimate decision to stop. Primarily reasons based off of gradually losing the love she had in the beginning for the sport. Jewellz is still extremely grateful for the journey that archery has taken her on and says that she will always,''Hold the sport very close to her heart.''
